David Barton

David Barton is currently employed as the Chief Engineer – Roads at the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). In this role, David holds the technical authority and accountability for all engineering standards and technical requirements that apply to the DTP managed arterial road network. David also represents Victoria at the Austroads Technical Advisory Group Taskforce.

David is a qualified, chartered and registered Professional Civil Engineer who has more than 25 years’ experience working in the Transport Industry both at VicRoads/DTP and as an engineering consultant. David has experience in the development and implementation of road engineering standards and policies whilst also designing, developing and delivering a broad range of transport infrastructure projects throughout their asset life cycle.
